Ain't no mountain high enough!

Sorry for the bad grammar! But as I was thinking of writing a blog this morning, this song came to me!
Listen baby, ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough baby
If you need me call me no matter where you are
No matter how far don't worry baby
Just call my name I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry
'Cause baby there ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe- Marvin Gaye

I am thinking of our tough times that we are going through and I am thinking of the positive that we can still find each day. I round with my employees each month, we are MRI techs and we are taking care of Covid 19 pts these days, and let me tell you, it is scary. But one of the questions I ask my techs is, "what is going well, what is positive in all of this?"
One of my techs yesterday said, "well, as we are not needed each day at the hospital as we have cancelled so many of our out patients that are healthy and should stay at home, I too will be able to take some time off as there is a low need each day. I can get some yard work done, I can study a little bit more, I have some books I want to read...." I was so happy to hear him be able to answer in such a positive way as incomes are going to be effected, we have the risk of being exposed when we are at work, these are going to be tough times to recover from, but I still think there is always something to be thankful for.

The whole point of my blog today is to please stay home, stay healthy, get in your exercise in a non crowded area, take really good care of yourself, eat healthy, take a deep breath and know that we are going to get through this. It will not be easy, we don't know a time line, but I am really hoping the world will come together and it will heal in time.

I want to thank each and every one of you for being here for me and for all the other sparkers that need encouragement and a friend. I know that I always have so many friends here that will reach out and encourage, support, give a virtual hug, make me smile, make me laugh, and sometimes bring a tear to my eye while reading their kind words.

Be kind to one another, share your resources if you can. Call a friend, a loved one, and tell them you love them. How very special they are to you. We can't do this alone friends, but together, we are unstoppable.

Stay safe and know that I love you as a spark family! There is no place in the virtual world like spark people. It is a safe place with people that really care.
Have a good Saturday and I beg of you, please stay away from crowds and stay home when you can. Take good care my wonderful friends. Hugs!!

Always loved that Marvin Gaye and this is a lovely blog. You are showing real leadership at work just as you do here at Spark People.

And yes, in response to your comment on my blog: I do think it's harder for our spouses when we are in a tough place. I know when I was home with our baby when our house was severely damage in a tornado; or when I was getting breast cancer treatment -- much much harder for DH than for me. So not surprising your loving husband is worrying about you at work. But you are doing all of the right things, and your work is vitally important.

And yes: you've got a whole crew of Holly fans right here cheering you on!!

Great message. Health care workers are especially in my prayers. My DIL is a hospital R.N. I hadn't thought of you working with COVID-19 patients, but now that I know, you will be specifically in my prayers by name. It's so important to stay positive, and I love your encouraging words.

Great blog. I truly respect you and your difficult job. I am a retired nurse and theses days, glad to not have the challenge of walking into the hospital each night. I was house administrative supervisor where all decisions fell in my lap. I now help others in our resort waiting to be able to go home but not sure we will be allowed to travel through other state. Please stay healthy as we need all the health care people we can get currently.
emoticon emoticon for the positive thoughts.

I loved your blog. I pray that you will be safe at work during this trying time. We will get through this together when we follow the instructions of the CSDC and other officials. It is hard for me to stay away from friends and not hug them but when I can I will give them the biggest bear hug I can!

Thank you for sharing such a positive blog with those of us who are down about this whole thing. Reading a blog like yours lifts my spirit and made me smile. Gave me hope for a sunnier tomorrow.
Even if I can't get out to the stores, I can get out to take my dog for a walk around the neighborhood as long as I stay away from people.
Nothing's set in stone. Everything will pass and things will get back to relative normalcy soon, God willing.

P.S. I love that song too. Could dance to it all day long!

Both challenging and inspiring. Beautifully stated. Thank you. As I remarked to some one else, what we need to do together, at least symbolically reminds me of the old Sunday School song we used to sing as children, "If we all pull together, together, together, if we all pull together how happy we'll be. For your work is my work and our work is God's work; if we all pull together how happy we'll be." emoticon

Thanks for your uplifting blog. Last Tuesday I had total knee replacement and stayed overnight. I thanked the nurses and caregivers often because I realized their risk they were up against at this time especially. The next day, all elective surgeries were canceled. Glad I had it done, as I needed it badly. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks for sharing your positive attitude and your coworker couldn't have said it better. We need to look for the positive in this. Yes there are going to be some struggles, but know that this too will pass in time. If we do what we are told, we should be able to snuff this disease out quickly. Take advantage of this time. Be great parents for our children. Reassure them that things will be alright. Remember they pick up fears from us when we let the see them. emoticon emoticon

“Every day may not be good but there is something good in every day.” This is my Mantrs. I start each day seeing this on my refrigerator. These days with being laid off, self isolation, and just the stress of it all, I am making it my goal to look for that good...every day.

This too shall pass and we have to stay strong and care for each other until it does,

One of my fave songs. What a super positive blog Holly! I sure hope all will be ok for you and your fellow workers. And of course your family. It is a scary time and more so for you working in a hospital treating these patients! I love SP and it is a safe place, full of our caring, supportive friends. I think of them as my extended family and glad you are one of them! We are staying home for the most part, but DH has to go to work still and being in retail, I think that is probably the second worst place to be at 8 hrs. a day!! Take care. emoticon

Excellent blog Holly, a message we can follow for our own sake, and hope others are doing it too. This virus is serious stuff, and the only way at this time to reduce the virus is staying home as much as possible and away from being with many people. May you and your family stay well, and positive during this time. Thank you Holly for being a medical personnel that is on the front lines working with the public.
One more thing, thanks fro the lyrics to the song, I haven't heard that for a number of years, but the melody came back as soon as I trted reading the words.

Excellent message and what a good way to remind us all that there are positives in everything. I am personally getting so much knitting done - 2 new grandsons last month makes for a knitting flurry! If I was out doing all the things I typically do I wouldn't have as much time to do what I enjoy!
