Listen to Your Body... (And Your Heart)
Monday, February 10, 2020
This evening I totally could have pushed myself a little more and could have easily gotten 20k steps instead of 17k, but my body was telling me I needed to rest. So instead of feeling let down or disappointed in myself, I responded with compassion and understanding.
Pushing yourself isn’t always a bad thing. It can be good, when done at the right timing and with good balance. However it was not my plan to do so today, but that doesn’t mean I won’t have more days where I work harder in the future.
Be kind and patient with yourself. Forgive yourself for not always being perfect. It’s a journey, not a race - and you’ll learn from every move you make along the way. If you’ve been working super hard at your goals, let yourself relax. If you feel you haven’t been trying your hardest, put in a little more effort. Whether it’s work or rest, or food or exercise you are trying to find more balance with - remember, you win either way.
...I wish you good luck, and I wish you balance.
