Does anyone have an insta-pot?

Sunday, January 26, 2020

I used to do a lot of crock pot cooking. My son's girlfriend received an Insta-pot for Christmas and loves it! What do you guys think? Can you cook 'freezer meals' in it? Any particular chicken recipes or veggie recipes you recommend?
I'm deathly allergic to fish and my hubby cannot have beef or pork.

I do most of the cooking in our household. I use my Instapot about once a week. I love using it. Since my purchase my crockpot sits in the cupboard most of the time. It is difficult to ruin a recipe. The Instapot does all the thinking and all the work. Just tap in the settings. There is a plethora of recipes on line. I believe the Instapot will enhance your life.

@3VEGGIES I use a thermometer to know when meat is done. I judge veggies by how 'crunchy'. This method should work for the instapot too.
Mac and Cheese in 10 minutes. That seals the deal for me. lol Browning turkey and onions would help me make chop suey more easily too.

I love It! Cooks much faster than a crockpot. Mac and cheese in 10 min. You can brown meat stir fry onions and then add other ingredients in one pot. I’ve made spare ribs in it, used it as a crock pot etc. Go to library and get instapot recipes or whatever you want to make google “xxxx instapot” for recipe. The hard part for me is not knowing how long to cook things in it.
