New plan.

This year something new happened. I joined a weight loss clinic. It was something I had been talking to my husband about since we made the bet and he has been very supportive of it but it wasn't necessarily in our budget. Our agreement was that I would have to do enough door dash deliveries to pay for it myself.
I chose a place that is relatively new compared to Jenny Craig and WW, but is very popular here in western washington and is constantly promoted by radio hosts who have even tried it themselves. I also have a friend who was on it at lost 100 pounds. It's called 30/10 weight loss for life and it not only has quick results, it also has been known for boosting metabolic rates, changing and even losing cravings for unhealthy food, and even offers an accountability program to keep the weight off for life. If I didn't already know someone on this plan I'd be skeptical myself.
Anyway I went in January 2nd for my evaluation and it turns out that I needed to lose weight more than I thought. I stepped on their fancy scale and I got the following results:

BMI: normal is between 18.5 and 25, overweight is between 25 and 30, obese is 30 or more. Mine was 40.7

Body Fat Percentage: for a normal woman my age body fat would be 21-32.9%, high body fat would be 33-38.9%, and very high body fat would be over 39%. My body fat was 46.8%

Metabolic age: I'm 33. Obviously I would like my body to be functioning at my age or lower, ideally ten years younger than I am. My metabolic age is 48, meaning my body functions like a 48-year-old.

Visceral fat rating: For those of you who don't know, visceral fat is the fat between the organs. Normal visceral fat rating is below a 9, ideally it should be 4-6. Mine is a 12.

So yeah, I knew I wasn't in that great a shape but I didn't know how far off I was. It also turned out that it cost more than I expected. For the amount I needed to lose and the amount of time it would take, I was looking at 4900 or 700 a month. Still, I went for it. I came back the next day and signed up. I started the following day. By the time I reached my weigh-in on day 6 I had already lost 8 pounds and my body fat went down 0.7%. I'm on day 8 and I've already lost 10 pounds. I'm looking forward to updating on my progress. I even started a new Instagram account to document my weight loss as my main account (thecoombechronicles) has turned into a documentary about my family.
