Day 26: Adding Pilates

I've added Pilates to my routine now. I've done Pilates in the past, but not extensively. It's always been something I've been interested in but I've never really gotten the chance to explore it the way I've done with yoga. So I thought now would be a good opportunity to start working it into my routine. I did a short ten-minute chair Pilates routine this morning and enjoyed it a lot. There was a lot of core work in it which I particularly enjoyed. I'm focusing a lot on creating a strong core right now and looking for ways to do that. Pilates is similar enough to the yoga and stretching that I already do that it fits in nicely. In addition to the Pilates I did ten minutes of yoga this morning and five minutes of stretching. I really do love the yoga. It's one of my favourite exercises. I'm looking forward to being able to do it on the floor again. I'm taking it slowly, though, and going at a pace that is comfortable for me.
Nutrition is going okay. I'm getting over 100g of protein right now so I know I'm eating enough to build muscle and doing better with fibre. My sodium and sugar are still too high and so is my fat, but I'm lower on fat than I was. I am going grocery shopping in a couple of days so I will be able to stock up on food again and have better meal plans.
Meditation is going really well. I did a chakra relaxation meditation last night and also a "Coming Back to Your Senses" meditation. I feel as though my mindfulness practice is expanding and I am growing in calm abiding.
My plan for quitting smoking is going well. I have decided that the three days that I am not going to smoke are going to be Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. So I will let you know how that goes. I think this will work well to get me started with quitting.
Have to put some focus on drinking water today, though. It's the one area where I can be pretty weak, so I need to put some special emphasis on it.
