Back to Running...

Now that I dropped the weight, I have been thinking about what type of cardio exercise I want to incorporate. I really would like to run again.
Because of my back issues, I decided to start out at a slow pace, increasing over time, to see how I feel as I go.
Last week I started at a 4.5 mph pace and ran 3/4 mile on my treadmill. I walked the rest of the way at 3.2 mph until I hit 20 mins. I incorporated a 10 minute yoga pre-stretch before the run and a 22 minute cozy yoga stretch, (courtesy of youtube), that I do after running. As of today, I am running 1 mile at 5.0 mph, and walking the rest at 3.5 mph until 20 mins.
I'm feeling really good. At some point this week, I will add 1/4 mile to my run. I keep reminding myself not to focus on speed.
I signed up for the 5% Winter Challenge today to help keep me focused. I haven't tracked my food in a long time - don't need to on the Forks Over Knives food plan. That part should be interesting.
As for my health, Doctors are still stumped on what the spots in my spine, in my lungs and spleen are. I had a bone marrow biopsy done a couple weeks ago. I go back to the oncologist next week for the results. If nothing comes up, they will biopsy a spot in my spine.
I'm not excited about that one.
I feel the best I have been in a very long time. I'm just going to keep doing what I am doing!
