Day 2: Nothing Is Easy
Friday, December 13, 2019
Working out this morning was kind of a mess because when I tried to work out early this AM, my video wouldn't load right so it would only let me through the first 2 minutes. I ended up doing the first 2 minutes of the video twice before I gave up and went back to bed for a couple of hours. When I got back up the video worked fine. So I ended up getting ten minutes instead of 6 this morning! Not too bad. Plus I did another five minutes of stretching. A 15-minute workout isn't too shabby I don't think. Although my side is hurting a lot this morning. I'm proud to be working out again in such a consistent manner, though. I know it's going to make the difference for me that I've been looking for.
Nutrition hasn't been going as well as I'd like it to be. I've been overeating quite a bit lately and my sodium and sugar have been way up. I'm trying to get back on track today. If I want to keep going down the scale and overcome that yo-yo cycle I need to stay focused and not allow myself to keep getting off track.
Mindfulness practice is going really well. I did a mindful meditation this morning for 10 min and finished re-reading The Dhammapada last night. Reading Stages of Meditation now. Gaining a lot of insight from these reads.
Quitting smoking is hard. It's my fourth day without cigarettes now. It's getting a little bit easier, though. Just have to keep thinking of what the rewards will be if I save my money. I do know from previous experience that it starts to get easier after a while. I just have to keep at it.
Haven't been too successful at drinking water yet. Going to try today and see how I do. Been drinking coffee this morning but going to switch to water after this cup. It seems like it should be easier to drink water now that I'm not smoking anymore but we shall see.
That's all I have to report for now. Keep Sparking!
