Day 1: Back To The Original Formula
Thursday, December 12, 2019
So I've decided to go back to writing blogs like I used to write. I'm going to write a weigh-in blog once a week on Sundays but try to blog every day. I'm going to do my best to get back into all the good habits that I used to practice and these blogs were always particularly helpful at keeping me on track.
I found out my doctor appointment isn't until the 17th. So there's that. But I'm actually doing some better. I've been doing stretches/yoga, icing my side/back, and resting a lot and all that seems to be helping a lot. So I should survive until my doctor's appointment.
Exercise is going really well. I've been focusing particularly on starting to get fit again. At the beginning of the year I was really into fitness and then during the summer/fall I got really distracted and led astray but I am back on track now. I did chair cardio and stretches this afternoon although I am still only able to do about 6 min of cardio. Eventually I will be able to do the entire video!! I have to be careful about what I do with my bad ankles and side, but doing the chair exercises makes it possible for me to still exercise. It's definitely making a difference, though! I can already see the changes in the way my figure looks from when I started working out again.
Nutrition is going pretty well, too. There's more days that I'm falling within my calorie range and I'm doing better at choosing healthier foods. I also don't have as much of an appetite. I'm not binging anymore and eating normally. I don't have cravings very often either. I am planning on re-reading Gillian Riley's book "Eating Less" just to help me to do a little better with my eating in general.
Starting up with my mindfulness practice again. Did a lovingkindness meditation this afternoon for 10 minutes. Found it to be very beneficial. Going to re-read The Dhammapada and start up a regular meditation practice again. Also going to start a meditation journal again.
Giving quitting smoking another genuine go around. It's been about 3 days since I've had a cigarette and it has been pretty difficult so far but I am doing my best. I have money in my wallet which is the most difficult part of it. I gave some of the money to Fritzy but still have enough money for a pack of cigarettes which I don't want to spend on smokes, I want to save for something else, so I'm going to have to really be strict with myself the next time I'm out and about.
Going to start my mission to drink water. I don't drink any water atm so to get up to 8 glasses a day I am going to start with 4 glasses a day and work my way up. I've got myself a big mug of water right now that holds 2 glasses and so I've got a good start on things and I'm putting ice in my water which motivates me to drink more water.
Not much else going on today. Will post again later. Keep Sparking!
