The Children's Hour

poem by Henry W Longfellow:
Between the dark and the daylight,
When night is beginning to lower,
Comes a pause in the day's occupations,
That is known as the Children's Hour.
It would be a great family treasure if families with young children took time out at least once a week to celebrate in the spirit of Children's Hour. I grew up in a family where we had a children's family hour on Monday evenings. It was a great way to institute family togetherness. Also, we older kids were often assigned to individually, and sometimes as a team, take turns to prepare a spiritual lesson or display a new or improved skill for Children's Hour. It was a great confidence and social skills builder.
