2020 Vision

Tuesday, November 19, 2019

"2020 Vision" has been my motto for 2020 for awhile now.

I started a Facebook group right after gaining two years in a row in 2017, and barely used it. I just updated my yearly weight measurements on the front of my SparkPage.

I’ve been feeling pretty down about it, about to hit my 12 year mark from the start of my major weight loss in 2008.

So I ran back through my numbers where I keep my Jan 1st weight, lowest and highest for the year. And yes, I have gained every year since my divorce. Until I started that Facebook group, and I’ve maintained within 20 lbs for the past 3 years.

But the fact is that even with the gains I’ve maintained significant loss from 10 years ago. And this is what I need to remember... because I was letting the slide get me down, destroying my confidence that I have the ability to change my weight and fitness level.

And weight is a small snapshot of it. My FITNESS at this same weight is NOT what it was 11+ years ago. Surgery in 2015, back and heel issues this year have made a significant decline in my activity level, and my eating habits fluctuated.

So looking ahead to 2020, I’m making more prepared meals, and about to start more flexibility plan, and devising a lung conditioning plan.

Here we go.

I am here to cheer you on. We have both been Sparking since 2008, joined just a few days apart.

We are still here and we are still working it, so keep going. If you can take up dog walking rover. com you can even get paid for it. I got a puppy in August and I am doing much better with walking.

It sounds like you had plantar fasciitis. I did too and I got some special shoe inserts from Walmart $30 and it helped immediately.

Jocelyn keep blogging. It helps so much to put your wishes, plans, thoughts/feeling in writing. Pulling it out of your head and gives life.

I love it! 2020 Vision. You are so clever and so witty.
I too have gained back some weight since maintaining for a few years. Self-doubt is keeping me here, but I'm working my way out of that and into chronic positivity using baby steps and not trying to take huge leaps with my beliefs.

Amazing! Looking at the bigger picture is so important👍 you have that huge dent from your original start and that is fantastic. Getting those lungs conditioned is work, I just took 5 weeks off from running to recover from some things...and I want to do half marathon #31 on the 8th. I know it may be way more difficult than it was October 12th, but if I do do it, (weather permitting- I don't run on ice or snow) I will just walk to the finish line if I must. Great to see you back, you Done Girl😘

Good for you for finding ways to keep yourself accountable and for remembering how far you've come from where you began. And for the great plans you've made for 2020. I'm so impressed! Keep up the good work. You can do this!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
