Second Desert Week, Day 15
Monday, November 18, 2019
Yet another scorching hot day. We opted for a city walk, town more likely - and stayed on the shady side. I’d had another poor night’s sleep so this option was prudent and We got our steps in.
One of the upscale hotels was celebrating their anniversary and brought in a lovely young camel - Herbie - and how appropriate, a camel in the desert. It was obvious to me this outfit from a farm about 50 miles away absolutely dotes on this gentle soul.
We are starting our third week and looking forward to much needed rain mid week. We may only get 1/4 inch, but SoCal will get up to two. My schedule is full as well - rainy days mean groceries and general cleanup. I am registered for an ACE webinar, and Yoga on the green at the Sunnylands estate.
What is odd, I miss my house/ home routine. Today we declined ‘service’ , and I took care of the bed, the tidying up, the trash, and hung the ‘ all set’ sign on our door. It is so much better than waiting for the housekeeping people to come in and move stuff around.
Today I am hoping we go up to the Santa Rosa Visitor Centre and do one of the hikes with modest elevation. We might see Peninsular Sheep on one of the trails - always a big thrill. Meanwhile , here is Herbie the camel.
