A momento of Shasta's visit. I rounded the corner into my family room late in the day, and here was her broom! Oops. I texted her so she can come collect it next time she's in town. But we exchanged a small smile over that the broom might have still been sweeping away... and of course, that brings images to mind of the Disney short, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice".
The mythical son brought Carl over for a neighborhood walk this afternoon. We are having a series of very nice for the time of year days, after having had a cold snap for a few days. This is how it begins.
I will have Carl for Grandma day care tomorrow... so the pristine "just done" magic of Shasta will be short lived. Still, that once a month serves two purposes, one of which is keeping me motivated to "do my homework" and at least keep up with the mail, the dishes and the laundry, and to try to periodically put my toys away. Overall, the place is so much better off than before I started having her come, over a year ago now.
Having Carl visit is worth the trade off. Those liquid brown eyes, those soft ears, and the joy with which he lives... yes, definitely worth it.
Onward, and Life is Good!
