Beaver Moon, Xmas Decorating, Misc.
Friday, November 15, 2019
Have you noticed the beautiful full moon the past few nights? As always, throughout my life, I am often affected by a full moon and just have to hold on tightly for the roller coaster of internal churning it produces.
"The full moon that appears in November is called the Beaver Moon. There is disagreement over the origin of November’s beaver moon name. Some say it comes from Native Americans setting beaver traps during this month before the swamps froze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs."
Every time I think I'm going to not open another big bin of decorations, I have renewed energy the next day and dive in. What has made decorating so much easier this year is the day-by-day slow decorating process, not overwhelming myself with doing it all at once and burning out. Another thing that has made it easier is that I've gotten very organized when packing everything away, thus making it easier to unpack. I also have found a way to keep most of it within reach so I don't have to have someone help me climb, lift, move, etc. to get to the bins. I've already been called "Ms. Claus" due to it is looking like a wonderland. And about 30 percent more to go. I've finished with the lights, and will add the inflatables on Thxgiving weekend. Hope to take pics and post them.
We are still having warmer than usual temps, although not the uncomfortable ones of the last few weeks. I know it's ridiculous to mention the weather when so many are dealing with extremely cold temps already in the year.
Hard to believe we are at year's end. January will be 11 years on SP, and always amazes me because when I joined I didn't intend to stay. Even though I haven't achieved impressive results, I have to say that it has kept me making better choices or getting me back on track when I haven't. And, of course, you are the reason I have stayed so long. Really wonderful, supportive community.
Wishing all a happy, healthy day.
