No powertrips lately. At least I hope my subordinates think that too.
My mom came and visited last weekend. It was good to have her here for a little. The visit got slightly morbid, because we sat down and talked about what she wanted to happen when she passed away. My mom is healthy, minus high blood pressure (which she keeps under control with medication) and a smoking habit that she hasn't been able to kick. It's not a great conversation, but I'm glad I know what the next steps will be. My mom doesn't want me to go through a long drawn out wake or funeral. Being from a Catholic family, it comes with the territory. She wants to donate her body to science, then have her remaining ashes spread out on the beach. If I want to do a small memorial service I can (which I will!). I feel the same way, and want something similar when I pass.
Other than that, we ate too much, walked a lot around AC, and just enjoyed being us.
Kept up with all my training! Yesterday was my first long run in the cold weather. It was about 23 degrees, and my lungs were not happy with me! I also learned that I have to wear some sort of wrap around my neck. I thought the heat from running would keep it warm, but I was incorrect. I have a few headbands that can double as neck wraps that aren't too thick, so I can use those. I'm happy that I figured this out during a 3 mile run, and not a 10 mile one!
Have a good week and thank you for reading!
