1st round fell the night before Halloween and was so cold and wet and heavy that all the green leaves literally froze and dropped before noon. Never saw anything like it before.
Luckily, the day prior and following were warmer, so only the snow where I cleaned the cars off had to be shoveled and once again, I... the only over 3 (pfft, over 60 year old) was the one to shovel. Age that comes from wisdom tells me when you have that kind of snow... you shovel what needs to be gone because usuually, the day after snow falls, the temps also drop and then you're stuck with hunks and chunks of ice that are here for the duration.
Today?? Snow started around 4:30 AM and is expected to continue through 9 PM tonight. Thankfully, it's a little lighter because it's colder, but we're also expecting temps to be on the colder side for the next few days.
Haven't heard the prediction for the end results where yet but what started out as a maybe an "inch; inch and a half" seems to be heading more toward 4 to 5. Not so bad if it's light; sadly a heart attack waiting to happen for some, if not.
Was already out to feed the birds. Have a lovely pair of cardinals and a mini flock of very boisterous and seemingly good natured black capped chickadees tag teaming each other. I love seeing them but am waiting for my favorites, the dark eyed juncos to return. They're just lovely and dainty and courteous, if you can imagine a bird being so. I love seeing and watching them.
I'm just going to put on a pot of Gingerbread spice coffee, (LOL, why not? Seems more like January than November!) and I'm making a huge stock pot of soup. then, when I need to, I'll bundle up, clean off the car and head into the thick of it all because that's where my new job is. It's OK. I'm seasoned. Been there done that. Not my first rodeo, yadda, yadda, yadda.
And... all in all; it is, kind of pretty, regardless. Believe me, though.... I am counting the days until I can retire!!!!!!!!
Spark on folks!!!!
