Reflections on October, 2019

October 2019 has been a difficult, yet very good month for me. I joined Spark at the beginning of the month. Then, starting the 2nd week of October, I had a terrible headache that was about as bad as a migraine. I had that headache for 2 weeks. I have a pseudotumor cerebri (basically my brain thinks I have a tumor in my brain but I really don't).
I was finally able to have a spinal tap done the Friday before Pumpkin Show (which is the 3rd Wednesday of October through that Saturday, although it technically starts at 5:00 on Tuesday). My opening pressure was 33. I'm still not really clear what is used to measure the pressure. I'm not sure if it is lbs or kg, or what it is. but, I did find out through Facebook that the tool they use to measure the pressure only goes up to 35 and if the pressure is higher than that, then they have to add an attachment to the measuring tool. He was able to take my pressure down to 15, but he said it was supposed to be 12. I have an appt with him in a little over a week to review the results of the spinal tap. My appointment was supposed to be yesterday, but I had to reschedule because I had to hold an IEP meeting at the time of my appointment. Every school in Ohio has to have current IEPs for all returning and new students by October 31. This means that every student that started with us for the first time at the beginning of the year or has transferred to us since the beginning of the year had to have a whole new IEP written in order to be in compliance with the Oct 31 deadline.
I'm sorry if I'm rambling, I'm kinda manic right now. I haven't slept through the night for about 3 or 4 nights. And, tonight, it is 1:25 am and I am still awake. Although, I am starting to get tired. So, I think I will go to bed soon.
Thank you for reading this long blog!!!
Have a great weekend!
