Goals & Gratitude 10/27/19

Well, I have some time this afternoon, so I thought I'd blog. I slept really good all last week, until last night. I slept two hours (3-5 AM) and then I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I got up and Sparked for a while, then went back to bed at 7 AM. I fell asleep right as my alarm went off at 8 AM. Of course! I turned off the alarm, reset it for 10:30 AM, and fell asleep for 2.5 hours. When I woke up, I felt much better, though tired. I got up and put dinner in the crock pot and had breakfast, then headed to church. I was super late but at least I got there.
I spent coffee hour talking about the Angel Tree program we are doing and recruiting people to help. Angel Tree is a prison ministry program whereby church members buy gifts for the children of prisoners. But the gifts aren't from us-- they are labeled as from the prisoner with a message from the prisoner to their children. It's a wonderful program, but a lot of work. Luckily, I get more and more help each year. I spoke to the women's group and about five people volunteered to do various things for me to get everything going. That will really help me out. We also throw a party for the Angel Tree kids. They come and get their gifts and have a good time. We do arts and crafts, sing Christmas songs, have an ice cream bar, and do sugar cookie decorating. It's great fun for all. We hope to have about 25 kids at the party this year, and we will give gifts to around 50 kids. So I'm super busy with school and that but that's okay cause it keeps me out of trouble!
I'm super tired now after little sleep last night. I'm definitely going to bed early! I'm going to have a late lunch in a few minutes and then go for a walk and come home and relax. I have homework I could do today, but I'm going to leave it for tomorrow and spend some time relaxing and sewing Christmas gifts. The only thing I need to do is cut up plums this evening and do the dishes. Everything else can wait.
1) Make copies of Angel Tree paperwork and call the parents I'm assigned to.
2) Finish Tax Planning homework that's due Tuesday.
3) Finish chapter 1 and start chapter 2 homework for Bookkeeping.
4) Do the laundry.
Today I'm Grateful For...
1) The little sleep I did get this morning.
2) A yummy dinner cooking away in the crock pot (slow cooker salsa chicken-- a SP recipe).
3) The women at church who volunteered to help me.
