What a crazy busy couple of weeks it's been! Getting ready for the busy fall and winter market season has certainly been eating up what would normally be my downtime but I have stayed focused on my goals.
Sunday I ran my race, I was happy with my decision to reduce to the 5K instead of pushing to the 12K. I knew I wasn't ready for it and I was able to run a very consistent race, that was what I was working to. I didn't want to start out a sprint and then dwindle down to nothing. As I got close to the finish line my daughter had the announcer give me a shout out, "Peyton and Paisley say, Go Nana Go!" How can you not sprint when you get that kind of support?
Next race will be a very family event. My husband will return to running and do the 5K. Shelby and I will step back up to the 10K, her boyfriend is trying to decide between the two and the twins will run their first race, a 1K kids run. This will be in March.
After the race I went back to the Expo we were set up with for our business and started talking to the photographer set up beside up, looking at her photos. She does beautiful boudoir sessions, very tasteful, very empowering. I had looked at the book on Friday and like 90% of the woman that look said no way could I do that! But here's the thing, I know that my husband would love them. I know that even at this weight that I am so uncomfortable at he would think I was beautiful, so I purchased a session! I'm going in January and will give him the photos for Valentine's day. Years from now I know I'll look back and be glad I did this, as a confident 55 year old woman who isn't afraid of my imperfections.
I told my daughter about it, she was in awe and a little jealous so I offered to buy her a session. With everything she's gone through the last 5 years I think this is a great way for her to celebrate her strength.
