Decision Time

Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Saw my oncology surgeon today after a CT scan. He said another tumor on my right lung is ready to be dealt with. Chemo is out due to other problems, so it is either surgery or radiation. I am aiming toward radiation as the local hospital now has a new type of radiation machine that pin points where the radiation goes by way of GPS. It will involve seeing a radiation oncologist, PET scan and 5 trips to the hospital for radiation. Surgery involves a 4 day stay in the hospital and being laid up at home for 2 weeks with VNA visits. Leah (my dog) won't be happy cooped up that long, and my surgeon thinks radiation is the way to go as he has been playing " whack a mole" with these tumors now for 12 years. I would rather be up and mobile, tho my wood splitter is put away for the winter. The dog will also be happy as will be DW as she doesn't drive any more and I do all the shopping and driving to appointments.
