217 yikes

The weight has shot up. I seem to not have entered a weight in here since september 25th, just after I returned from Arkansas, and that was an annoying 214.8. In the month since, another couple of pounds have pound their way onto my hips. Granted, this latest surge might be a bit short lived, since it comes a) at midday, post lunch, rather than first thing in the morning as I usually weigh, and b) after a weekend filled with eating out, celebratory lunches, chinese food, chinese food leftovers, and general food debauchery. Ok, maybe debauchery is too dramatic a word, but I ate a bunch of restaurant prepared food, with all its attendant calories/sodium/whatnot (that whatnot will get you every time).

So, maybe I'll weigh myself again in another couple of days, and celebrate a two or three pound loss. Or I won't, and be left grumbling some more.

Got an invite to go play pickleball with some folks a little far afield, on Thursday. Kinda considering taking them up on the offer. I mean, I'm playing regularly with people in Ann Arbor, and I like playing with them, and I've already paid for the privilege, so this would be further, taking more time to get there, and surely requiring a drop in fee to play at their facility. But I do like the idea of playing with a different set of people, perhaps with different playing styles. I'll have to think about that some more.

I've said before that I'm a "work extrovert", which I define as being an introvert in my regular daily life, but being able to be social and engaging when in a work situation, going into clinics to try and help people with new to them software. I kind of suspect I'm a pickleball extrovert, too, even if I'm hyperaware of not being very demonstrative while on a court, not particularly talking too much out there. I like meeting new people/players, though, which is where my concept of the pickleball extroversion comes from.

we all have been there, just be more mindful , plus you are getting "older" so you need to be doubly mindful

Try not to beat yourself up. We all slip up and usually for similar situations. I hear pickleball is a good activity and moving around is all you need to get back on track.

I would always weigh myself no clothes on and first thing in morning. Go and play pickel ball.
