Another Blessed Sunday

At choir practise this afternoon after the director said we would sing some of the songs we sang at the prison at First Baptist Church of Helena, a lady next to me asked if things had calmed down yet. This was in a city that is being sued for having a Chief of Police that hadn't graduated from High School. He says he has and the high school that he says he graduated from says they don't have the records because they were damaged by water and the fact that his picture was not in the yearbook was not proof of anything since some people didn't come the day they took pictures. We are rehearsing a Christmas cantata that has beautiful music with very uplifting lyrics. This morning, at my church, we had services in the beautiful sanctuary that we had abandoned because a few very vocal members didn't want to spend the money it takes to heat and cool the room. While the sermon would have been as uplifting if delivered in the dining hall where we could drink coffee and eat baked treats as we listened, I was touched with happy memories of the occurences in the sanctuary. A couple asked to join our church by letter from another Baptist churchAfterwards we had a meal in the dining hall with at which 20 non members attended and the food was great, we had the reverse of the "loaves and fishes" lesson for we had too much food begin with. It was nice to see members who hadn't been with us for many months. My day wasn't spoiled by the negatives of some comments and activities but was blessed by the comments and activites that I enjoyed.
