BIL took me to the store to get my water jugs filled and so I could buy some more tests strips at the pharmacy. As we were walking into the store he asked if I needed anything else and I said I wasn't going to get much, but I did want to get some lettuce, tomatoes, celery and cucumber - my salad staples. He laughed and said was I sure that was all I was going to get? He knows me so well.
Yes, I often say I am not going to get much, then end up spending over a hundred dollars on groceries - sometimes even more!
He went to fill up my water jugs and I detoured through the produce dept then went to the pharmacy, only to find out they don't open until 10 pm on weekends. (I knew they opened at 10 on Sunday, but thought they opened at 9 on Saturdays)
We had 20 minutes to kill so we each wandered around the store. And of course, I kept adding to my cart..... and adding, and adding. I got back to the pharmacy, and remembered something else and off I went again. Oh, my. I didn't realize how much I could add to the cart in just 20 minutes......
After I paid for everything, BIL was again laughing at me, and I told him I blamed it all on the pharmacy. If they had been open when we first got there, I would have got what I needed there and left. As it was, the pharmacy does not sell control solution for blood glucose monitors (they used to, because I have bought from there before, but I guess they no longer do so)
I did get the test strips for the meter I was given at the diabetes class yesterday (it only came with 10 strips so I needed to get more.) Luckily they were on sale this week!, I am still not sure yet if I like the meter. It has some different features I am not sure of, and not some of the ones I liked from my old meter (which is obsolete now and old and needed replacing!) I did some checking on line, and it is only rated at 90 pct so considered a fail by that site. hmmm.... But it does have a fairly large display and good colour contrast which I need, so I guess I have to try it for awhile and see.....
