Goals & Gratitude 10/15/19

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

I have been way too tired to blog the last couple of days. I fell into a deep sleep upon going to bed both last night and the night before. I'm hoping that my sleep schedule is getting better. I think I am sleeping better overall.

I did a sleep study last night. It's the kind that you bring it home from the doctor and hook yourself up and then take the equipment in to get analyzed the next day. I did it because my psychiatrist suggested it, but when I got to the doctor's to pick up the kit, I realized it's only to test for sleep apnea. I do not have sleep apnea. I have none of the signs. I have a hard time falling asleep, but that is not a symptom of sleep apnea. So I did the test because I thought it was free. Wrong! I got to the doctor's today to discover a $75 co-pay. I decided against have the test read for me. I have been tested for sleep apnea in the past and have always come back fine, so there's no reason for me to spend $75 on telling me something I already know! Anyways, I just left the device at the office and came home. I was told the doctor would call me at some point. We'll see if that happens.

I have been working on our group project for Human Relations today. It's just me and one other person doing the paper, and the third person is doing the PowerPoint. So we've been working on this paper but I have no idea what exactly we are supposed to be doing. I've been looking at the example and just copying the information because the teacher is so vague on the directions. I finally emailed her today and was told that it's not about the project, but about working together. emoticon I understand that we have to work together in the workplace, but generally you have a better idea of what you're going to be working on. I feel like I'm doing the whole project anyways. With that thought from my teacher, I just finished up what I felt was reasonable and I'm considering myself done with my part. Ours has the same information as the example, I guess. The project is on social media but I feel like none of our group members, myself included, really understand much on social media. I actually called a friend and asked her to explain Instagram to me! Anyways, it's basically done. I'll look at it again one more time tomorrow morning then send it off to the person doing the PowerPoint. And then we're done. I hate group projects.

Tomorrow's Goals:
1) Finish the group project and send it off to the next person working on it.
2) Work on my Import/Export term paper.
3) Finish reading for Human Relations.

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) That's I've fund-raised half the funds needed for the conference.
2) That a friend has volunteered to make a shawl that I can sell to raise money.
3) That the weather is absolutely perfect for walking.

Almost all of the jobs I have had required group projects. The more you do them, the better you are at them.

I am glad to hear that your sleep is improving. Group projects are the worst...in elementary school they maintain that it is getting you ready for high school. In high school they tell you that they are preparing you for college/university. And in college they maintain that they are readying you for the workplace! They are painful for the students and the teachers as nobody is happy! Thanks so much for the kind words you left on my blog. Hope all goes well with your dietician today. Hugs, Kat
