"Being Normal is Overrated" ~Quote from the movie Halloweentown
Growing up Halloween was not my favorite holiday. I even was scared of my uncle who was in the service when he came to visit wearing his uniform. Oh I loved my uncle as long as he wasn't in his uniform. When I was growing up, the Halloween TV special Halloween was 'It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown'. I never told anyone this but I so related to Charlie Brown. I was so grateful no one gave me rocks when I went trick-or-treating. I was grateful the school had a Halloween party because I am sure none of my class mates would have invited me to their Halloween party. It wasn't until I lived in Lacrosse and met people who loved Halloween and showed me how fun Halloween could be that I begun to even like Halloween.
When my son was born, I wanted to make sure he saw Halloween as a fun holiday. I hope I did a good job of doing that.
About 15 months after my son was born, Disney put out a Halloween movie that I actually liked because it was fun and not scary. It was called Halloweentown. Since then they have put out 3 more. I like them all! They reminder me that Halloween can be fun and not scary!
Day 72 of doing the new.
Today I watched the 1st Halloween movie of the season. Yep, I watched Halloweentown. It doesn't feel like Halloween time until I watch it!
