Are there really any bad workouts?

There actually is a bad workout, besides the ones you missed. It's the half-assed workouts where you don't give your full effort, you refuse to improve or correct your form and you quit before you're finished.
Part of my groups challenge this week is 10 minutes of Core and 10 minutes of Upper Body Strength Training. I could have just stuck with simple exercises and slogged my way through 10 minutes of a crappy workout but I didn't get my butt out of bed at 7 AM on a Saturday to perform a mediocre workout.
For the Upper Body, I made sure to incorporate my heavier weight to add a little challenge. I did more reps than I normally do to try and get a little more from the exercises. I did almost 20 minutes of exercise because I did more than 1 set of each exercise. I pushed myself to be better than I was the last time.
For the Core, I popped in a DVD I have with core exercises. I had to do both Ab videos to exceed the 10 minute requirement, but I did them both. I only modified where my knee required me to and I pushed hard for over 18 minutes. My last ab-only workout was months ago. They deserve some undivided attention too.
I'm not giving up on me and I refuse to complete a bad workout: whether it be from poor effort or I missed it. I'm showing up everyday for myself. Even if it's just some Pilates or Yoga to stretch and give my muscles some recovery time, I'll still be working out. I'm pledging to myself to not give up.
