Commitment to Myself

I've read, heard and been told numerous times that in order to be successful at getting healthy, you have to treat working out like any other appointment you would make for business or a doctor. I've come to find it is 100% true. If I do not make time in my schedule to add in exercise, it doesn't happen. I can come up with a million different reasons why I don't have time, my knees hurt, my back hurts, it's too hot outside, it's raining outside, I have to much "work" to do to take a break. This last one absolutely destroys me - every time. My job boasts about promoting employee health but they push quotas down our throats to the point where it sometimes feels like cheating if I actually take the breaks I'm entitled to by law.

So I've started taking my breaks, and quotas be damned. When I'm in the office 2 days a week, I get in at least 2 walks per days. When I work from home the other 3 days, I get in 2 walks and 1 strength training session. It might not seem like much, but so someone with a desk job, any activity is better than no activity.

I've made the commitment to myself to be the healthiest me possible, and I'll be damned if I let myself down!
