Keeping myself honest today

Monday, September 23, 2019

Today was a great day for exercise. I went to the gym that I've paid on for years. I used to go every day off with a friend then I stopped. Now I am going back alone. I stayed on the treadmill for 20 minutes and spent 20 minutes on the different strength training machines. I found some good work out music on you tube and really enjoyed being on the treadmill walking to the fast beat. I think I may have found a way to enjoy the treadmill as I usually find it a chore and boring.
I'm not a techy type of person so maybe someday soon I can figure out how to make my own playlist to play from my phone. I came home from the gym and ate a healthy lunch, then my husband and I had decided to go see the new Downton Abbey movie. This threw such a curveball into my healthy day as my husband bought a big tub of caramel corn, my favorite! So yes I ate some, not as much as I usually would have, but not a nice small amount to be polite. When we returned home I had a weight watchers chicken enchilada soup in the crock pot. It is a new recipe that I wanted to try. I did not think it was that good, but my husband loved it and had 2 helpings. I much prefer the weight watchers taco soup.
I walked my dog so that he would be able to chase squirrels, his favorite thing to do, and so that I could walk off the caramel corn I ate at the movie theater.
This is my honest day in trying to lose weight. I kept my promises to myself, I wasn't perfect by any means, but I am trying.
If you are reading this for some reason please pray for the family of a woman from my church and high school. She had been a missing person with search parties out all weekend, but was found today deceased in the river. She has 3 children and a husband who sure could use all the prayers we can offer up. Thank you.
