Goals & Gratitude 9/17/19

Today's walk turned into an interesting adventure...

I went to the gym in the morning with my trainer. Unfortunately, I found out that he had to cancel when I got there. But I figured since I was there I would exercise. I did 30 minutes on the bike and 25 minutes on the weights. I figured I would go for a walk this evening to get my 10,000 steps in. When I drove to the park this afternoon, there were about 6 school buses there are there was yellow tape all over the place. I started to walk, then I saw 10 teenage boys running towards me and realized that they were doing cross country races at the park! So I left there. I was trying to figure out where I could go and thought I'd check out a different park. It's kinda sketchy, but it was light out. The other park was sketchy. There were lots of homeless people there as I was starting to walk. But there were also lots of geese.

I was amazed by the geese. I saw them up close enough to humans to eat out of their hands. They looked fat and happy!

I realized as I started walking that there is a man-made park in the middle of this park, which is cool. As I was walking around there were some good views. People were fishing though I wouldn't eat anything caught in it. As I was walking and got to the north side of the lake, the park completely changed. It was much nicer and there were kids, the ice cream truck, and lots of people just chilling.

A shot of the lake.

I wanted to get in 10,00 steps today, but I hit about 8,000 and it was getting dark, so I headed home. Now I know which side of that other park to walk around, should I have the need to do so. I hope my regular park is back to normal tomorrow!

Tomorrow's Goals:
1) Do discussion board for Human Relations.
2) Do the weekly assignment for Import/Export.
3) Continue doing battle with the laundry. It just never ends!

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) Geese. Aren't they pretty?
2) That I was able to find an alternative place to walk.
3) That I have so many leftovers in my fridge I don't need to cook for the rest of the week!

    Love the geese!
I have a pond not too far from me, and love to walk there and see the geese.
There was a pair of white geese living there for years and years amongst the Canadian geese.

Several years back, one of them was hit by a car.

I was so sad to see the single white goose there with his Canadian friends.
He walked off by himself a lot.

The next season, the white goose seemed to be leading all his Canadian friends ... marching around the pond. Leading the little goosling flocks. A-DOR-ABLE!

Two years ago, there was a flock of baby gooslings that were Canadian geese ... with large patches of white on the chests and their tails. I think he finally found a new mate emoticon

This year, I have not seen him. (I think he may have died .. emoticon )

...but I still see his off-spring marching around ... the Canadians with the white chests all puffed out.

    Geese are great!

The kids' park is where the carousel used to be eons ago. Also, you can sometimes rent paddle boats for the lake.
