Odds & ends

So it seems that a late-summer cold is becoming part of my back-to-school ritual. So I've been backing off on my exercise since I just haven't had the energy. Haven't stopped it entirely, mostly because I don't want to break my streak here, but haven't been doing nearly as much as usual. So today I'm feeling better, about over it, it's a nice afternoon, and so I tried for the longer walk. I don't know if it's that I'm not quite over it, or just that it's farther than I've gone in several days, but YOW I'm feeling it.....

Work has been crazy, but we found a set of files we'd been unable to locate that we REALLY need to have for the accreditation visit next month. So the panic level on that is dropping just a bit. Now to deal with all the OTHER stuff on the to-do list....

Speaking of other stuff, I spent the morning turning 10 lbs of peaches into 15 half-pints (+ about a pint left over) of peach jam. Holiday gifts for neighbors/coworkers/etc are mostly done....

Weight is on a plateau, AGAIN. grrrrr..... Keep following the plan, things will work out.... This is part of the process.... darn frustrating, but part of the process.....

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If corn oil is made from corn and sunflower oil is made from sunflowers, then baby oil is made from.....?

I'm sorry that you've been sick. I hope you are feeling much better now. I'm impressed that you are still exercising. When I'm sick, the only exercise I get is to move from my bed to the couch.

I'm glad you found the missing files. Accreditation is such a stressful process no matter what industry you are in. Good luck knocking out that to-do list.

Making jam for holiday gifts is such a nice thing to do. I can remember my mom making strawberry jam when I was a kid. I seem to remember it was kind of a pain. Maybe it's because I had to help and I don't like strawberries. My son and I sometimes like to bake around the holidays. I really should take the time to do that this year.

Sorry about the plateau, but you know that you are right. Your body is adjusting. It needs time. Take this time to celebrate what you've accomplished so far!

I'm not sure I should even acknowledge your joke. Sigh. emoticon
