I did it!

Well, almost. I went for a run this morning. My Nike Run app was telling me to do a tempo run of 2.75 miles. I decided to do 3 miles, mainly because all my gadgets give me different mileage and going over would make sure I got in the whole 2.75 miles.

I usually do the run/walk method, but this past summer I have been trying to go the distance before taking a walk break. So, I set my goal to run the distance without stopping. I almost made it except for right before the "Congratulations, you have completed..." I saw a dog in the road ahead of me.

Encountering dogs on my runs scare me more than seeing bears - So I came to a dead stop, checked out the situation and slowly walked away in the other direction. Other than that I managed to do my 3 miles without taking a walk break and under a 12 minute mile pace.

My garmin gave me a 11'30 and the nike app gave me 11'51 -- I can only think that the difference is how the apps handle the incline. The garmin had me finish sooner.

Overall, I felt good during and after the run. Since I set out to do a 12 minute mile pace, I am happy with the results of my run today.
