Me coming off sugar...
Me enjoying a little fruit!
Oh, my. I'm still extremely satisfied with the freshness and quantity of the food I'm eating on this Whole30 journey. But removing sugar from your diet after being a repeat over-indulging offender for 50 years is NOT for the faint of heart...or body!
I could barely drag myself out of bed yesterday because I was so achy. And I fell asleep at 8:30 PM because I was so fatigued. Luckily, the Whole30 books, website, and forums do prepare you mentally for these reactions. But they can't really provide all the emotional support you need to cope.
So I'm being a little extra kind to myself right now: sleeping in a few minutes in the AM, nodding off in my recliner in the evenings, reading success stories, and taking a some minutes to visualize how great I'm going to feel once I get past this stage.
I've done it before--I can do it again!
