Busy day Monday

Monday, September 02, 2019

My sis called me this morning and asked if there was anywhere I wanted to go, or shopping I needed to do.

They came and got me, we went to the greengrocers who has some wonderful sales going on. When we finished there we went up to her place because a neighbour has volunteered to fix his snow sweeper for him. BIL will clear some of the neighbours walks if they have not done so but his sweeper wasn't running. Had to get it ready for winter, lol

Anyway, after that we went to Walmart and I was looking for some diabetic socks but I could not find the kind I used to get there (and prefer) But I found some by Dr. Scholl so got a package of them. Hopefully they will work just fine. I also got a new pair of slippers, then a few things in grocery that were on sale. I found a package of weiners that had no MSG or Gluten so I bought a package of that. I have been craving a hot dog for a while now. Of all things to crave! We also wanted to get grapes, (I love green and sis loves red) but the shelf was empty., So we went through the check-out. As Sis and BIL were waiting for me to park the motor buggy, Sis noticed that they were bringing out some more grapes, so BIL went and got a couple of bags for each of us.

Then we went back to her place and had a late lunch/early supper. When at the greengrocers, I had bought a dozen corn on the cob, so we cooked 3 of them in her brand new, just bought, Instant Pot. Shucked them and put on the trivet, cooked for 4 minutes, let in NR for about 5 minutes, then QR. Oh, my. That corn was soooo good. Not soggy at all. I think that is the only way I will cook corn on the cob in future. Sis made a ceasar salad to go with, and BIL bbq'd a weiner each. Conclusion: They were pretty good.

On the way back to my place, we stopped at Superstore so I could get some Parmesan cheese but we could not find any. I don't know if they have stopped carrying that brand but this is the third time I've tried to get some but could not find any. I always put Parmesan in my salads but running low and don't know when, or even if, I will be able to get any more. BIL found a wedge that wasn't all that big but cost a whopping $23.00 How atrocious! Got to my place and BIL helped me get all my groceries up to my suite then they were off to their daughter's place. She has had a cold all weekend (what a way to spend a long weekend) and thinks it is turning into pheumonia. She get's such terrible lung infections. I hope she feels better soon……

Tomorrow I see this new doc for the first time. Starting to get anxious. I hope I like him….

Have a great weekend, every one!
