"Give your time and energy to someone in difficulty"
I think I did this best on Friday when I deliberately went to find someone I know a little - and asked her about what's been going on. She has been going through a really tough time. I spent an hour listening to her and encouraging her.
It took quite a lot of my time and energy. I'll call on her again next week and see how she's doing.
My work is always giving time and energy - we have had a gastro bug going around at work - yesterday there were two key staff members off sick, so I was two people for the day, and someone else came in to cover the other gap later.
This morning (25th) I'm going to travel over to the next town to have breakfast with friends who regularly run a breakfast club in a cafe there. I'm making more of an effort to join in because my friends are having a difficult time - as one of them is facing a terminal cancer diagnosis.
As an introverted person, putting myself in intense socially interactive situations is very draining energy-wise. I have to be careful not to overdo this.
