Sugar Journal Day 2

Monday, July 29, 2019

A couple of hours ago, I posted a new message to my feed: Third day of healthy choices. Soon after, I gobbled two servings of M&Ms. 260 calories. Boom.

This is exactly how my previous attempts at healthier living have gone. A few successes and a self-inflicted loss. Anyways. The saving grace this time: my pre-M&M binge calorie count was a little over 1200 calories, and with the chocolate, it's still a few points below 1550, which is my absolute upper limit. So, all is not lost. But it could have been way way better.

Anyways. Moving ahead.

In good news: I managed to stave off a minor twinge of 'let's go down to the vending machine' during the workday. The fact that I was nonstop busy helped. I also did some minor gardening in the morning. Wasn't strenuous but because it was hot, I was a little sweaty. Didn't add this to my tracker though. Hard to be accurate about things like gardening... So, let it be. And went for a walk after dinner. Very short, and not brisk. But better than sedentary.

I am going to take the M&Ms to work and hopefully forget about them for some time. Or I could become the Kevin Malone (of The Office fame!) with his massive jar of M&Ms!

Water consumption still terrible. Just finished four cups a few minutes ago! And it's time for bed.

And you know what else? I don't even like M&Ms all that much! I ate them because they were available.

Bad choice but not the end of the world. New day tomorrow.

I totally feel you. I have to make sure not to buy junk, otherwise I'll eat it. I also have to remind myself to drink more water. Good you luck on your journey! You can do it!
