Heading home

Monday, July 15, 2019

It's been a good day and a bad day but back to good. We had high temps and high dew points so when we got up, it was already very humid. Got the camper hooked up and began our travels. The truck began to show the battery light again. Knowing we had a brand new battery as of this past Sat., it was realized our next thought was the alternator again. So I asked Google maps where the nearest auto service center was. 8 miles up the road. Got there without a problem. The guys were great, stopped what they were doing, had the alternator and installed within the hour. And the price was less that half of what we would pay up home. So far, we are 4 hrs. from home, the truck is cruising.

Got parked, staying hooked up so that we will just have to take down the inside tomorrow and head on home. Now our luck is strong as the following picture shows what happened at home and our camper plus Dimples, the truck, (previous huge hail storm), missed this quarter size hail. It could not have missed our place as this picture was taken by an individual at the top of the hill on which we are at the bottom of the hill. So we are looking forward to lots of yard work tomorrow in between storms as another is predicted for later in the afternoon.

We will probable be quite busy upon returning home.

Note the quarter with hail surrounding it.

I am so sorry. Vehicle repairs are such a pain, but just hope you get home safely and that all will be well.

Wow! Reminds me of the story where the person complained about being stuck in traffic only to find they just missed being involved in an accident. The Lord is always working in our lives. Perhaps having to stop and get the truck repaired was much better than the damage the hail storm could have done to truck and camper. I assume you are home now without any more problems.

That just beats all, another alternator before getting home. Thank goodness the place has one for your truck.
Yes, you will be busy with yard work once home with all that hail pounding the yard. That on top of the cleaning the camper to be ready for your next adventure, which had better to be a great trip after all you guys have gone through so far this summer.
