I had a few really tough and dark chapters there, and stopped logging in to SparkPeople. *sigh*

I'm examining my life again and looking to make healthful choices. There were things I did to cope that weren't very "healthy" but were still necessary for my health, mentally or one way or another.

At this point I need to re-synch my Fitbit with this site, if I can, and then go from there. I suffered from a bulging disc a couple of months ago and it has been dibilitating and painful in a way I've never experienced before. Even with the main issue of the sciatica pain being somewhat relieved, I have terrible heel pain, probably from years of unaddressed plantar fascitits. My Dr. went straight to prescribing surgery for my back.

So - first things first, I'm going to find some calf stretching exercises and order feet splints for sleeping.

Hi there! So few old friends still around, but i have been gone from SP the majority since January when I started IF and LCHF and didn't really feel like this site supported that. Since then have had a bunch of changes this year, alot of personal growth expansion, and honestly I got on here to see if I had a photo from 2009 for that FB thing lol. I dont. I dont think I have any photos of me from 2009 tbh. Pics of my kid but not me. Funny, now I do armature modeling. Anyway, I may be around, esp since I know other oldtimers are still active on here. Cheers

Hello old friend I see your still around. I started back up about a year ago. I us the calorie counter but, don't spend much time on here. I had my own dark times was off of fb and Sp for awhile off and on. Just as I was making a come back 4 years ago I fell and tore my back muscles. I just really restarted my journey Sept. 2018. emoticon

So glad you are back, I know the pain of plantar facciitis...I suffered for 2.5 yrs. while awaiting a meniscus tear repair...once the surgery was complete my foot pain magically disappeared. I wish you much success in solving the medical problems...even in the immobile state I was in, I attempted to stretch in bed...please listen to your body...don't let areas cease up...get pain management under control & move whatever you can, when you can! You will thank yourself as you get stronger!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hope you get the pain relief you need, asap. I have been experiencing heel pain too. The muscles in my legs are super tight and it is affecting my foot. I went to see an osteopath yesterday and had a treatment that has helped a little, but I feel the muscle tightness and I know this is going to take some time. In the meantime I have been listening to some spiritual stuff on YouTube that is helping me to make better choices in my life. If you're interested in that sort of thing, hit me up and I'll send you some links.
    Sending love and hugs!

I'm so sorry that life has been difficult, and I'm glad that despite all of that you're still doing what you can to move yourself forward. I hope thing s with your back can be resolved without surgery (second or third opinions are important).

Just my 2 cents asking, but is this an orthopedist that has prescribed surgery on your back? If so, please consider speaking with a neurosurgeon first. I have a friend who continues to suffer and wishes a neuro did his surgery.
