Frustrated but relieved

Thursday, July 11, 2019

Last week I blogged about having issues with dizziness, ankle swelling, weight gain and struggle breathing when walking the stairs I walk every day. I emailed my doctor of my thoughts that the new Thyroid meds could be the culprit of all my issues, per drugs.com, and he did not feel the same. Everyone I consulted about this didn't feel it was the meds either. He asked me to come in and see him. He and my husband contributed all my symptoms to my heart. I told them I really don't feel it is heart related. They both disagreed. So my doctor had his nurse run a EKG on me while he did some research. Guess what? My heart shows no sign of abnormalities. Doctor came back into the office and said, "Huh, your heart looks good and I never had a patient experience these side effects with Levothyroxine before and I've been doing this for over 40 years." My husband reminded him of my sensitivity to medication and the doctor said, "oh boy, you're not kidding." So he removed me off the Levothyroxine for a few weeks to see if I will get back to normal. This past week I have been able to climb the stairs as normal, a little winded, but to be expected, but I don't feel like something is preventing me from taking a deep breath like the prior week. It was scary that I couldn't breath normal. But I think we are headed in the right path. So I am going to take a step further and climb 3 flights of stairs to see the outcome and if I am just a normal winded, i would have to definitely say it is not my heart. If I am like I was last week then I will have to say it's time for a stress test. I have until next Friday to find out what the next step is and hopefully it's just thyroid med change rather than heart.

On a different note, I went to see a GYNO Doctor yesterday about my female issues, and he said I have done all the necessary steps to fix my issue, but he decided that a hysterectomy will be the best option. Next week I will find out if it will be a partial or full and what type of surgery I will have. I am really nervous about having a surgery, but in the end, I know it will be the best option for me. So until then i must wait for the next chapter in my life.

Thank you for reading my blog. Wish you a wonderful day.

you seem less tense than in the last blog. I hope it was the meds and that you'll be able to have the female stuff done as soon as possible. It will help a lot if you are not anemic!

    Have a great day!

Good for you for pushing your doctor on the meds. We may not be MD's but we do know our bodies!
