Healthy snacks are good when relaxing or before retiring for the day. If we can work it into our daily caloric allowance why not indulge.
One of our favorite healthy snacks is Popcorn. I made my own recipe for the two of us. Just the right amount and it is so good, we do not want to eat the high calorie stuff anymore. The corn can be popped without oil, but we like a bit of Olive oil.
MY RECIPE FOR POPCORN
1 Tsp. Olive Oil
1/2 Tsp. Salt - more if desired
3 Tbsp. Corn
Mix the oil and salt and let set at least a few minutes or more to soak. Add corn and put the lid on. (We use a microwave silicone bought from Amazon and love it.
Pop the corn in the microwave.
Yield: It's just enough for hubby & me to have our popcorn cup filled.
VARIATION: You can add any seasoning you like, but some may change the calorie and fat count. Sugar and cinnamon for the sweet tooth.
