MM Day 15 and Gym Week 2 Update

Saturday, June 15, 2019

Half way through my 30 day Miracle Morning Challenge. My body is beginning to wake automatically between 5:45 and 6:15. Even on days like today when I go back to sleep later in the morning (because weekends!) I am getting my SAVERS in and I feel great about what I am accomplishing.

This week worried me in the gym arena. Two reasons. UT held a conference on the 12-13th in the same building as our gym and parking was atrocious. We went on the 12th as usual but on the 13th a low morning blood sugar and dread of the parking led me to a later morning work out and the Hyde Lake Trail at Shelby Farms Park. Second reason I had a work day at CBU scheduled on the 14th that started right when we had been going to the gym. However like our work day at UT on the 11th we decided that we weren't going to skip our time just because we had to do it in a different way. We wear gym clothes for the work we do at the colleges (standardized patients) so we were already dressed and ready with half the day before us to decide what we wanted to do. It was a beautiful day and we headed back to Shelby Farms Park and did the longer Chickasaw Trail. Such a great decision. We saw three deer and thoroughly enjoyed our time outside. I believe we have decided to make at least one of our "gym days" each week some kind of outdoor option going forward because mental health is at least as important as physical health and there is just something about being out in nature that calms the mind and quiets the spirit.

I also indulged in an amazingly beautiful ice cream sundae yesterday afternoon before our walk. Sometimes you should eat the ice cream with no shame. It's healthy.

Today I got on the scale. I'm down below 110 again for the first time since before my injury in February. Somehow that feels like the LEAST important piece of information to share this week but there it is.
