Re 100 Pushups update and new schedule

This is my ongoing attempt to do 100 push-ups in one set by New Years Eve.
There is a program out there for achieving 100 pushups from scratch in 6 weeks, where you do pushups on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but I found that I needed at least two days rest after each full session of pushups instead of one rest day, and also I do not gain strength as rapidly as more youthful adults apparently do. I work out in fourteen day cycles instead where I do only 4 workout sessions in a bi-week and every 2nd Saturday I start the workout session with an exhaustion test then several workout sets. I did have a blog where I faithfully kept a record of my workout sessions since last August but for no good reason in May I deleted it and posted a new blog. I intend to get back to the old system of recording my workout sessions as well as my progress since that keeps me on track

To do this I will workout as follows each Biweek: First Week - Tuesday and Friday are workout sets; second week - Tuesday and Saturday are workout sets and Saturday's first set is as many pushups as I can possibly do. Repeat each new bi-week until I can do 100 pushups in a set. I may not be able to stick to the schedule below but even if I can't, I'm sure that I will do 100 pushups by my 74th birthday on May 13, 2020. I am no longer just a weak over-weight couch potato as I was at age 67 when I started Spark. Wish me luck. Bob

6/1 52 Pushups Done
6/12 Work out 4 sets at 49, 50, 48 and 47 pushups respectively
6/15 61 Pushups Did 61 pushups 6/17/19
6/17 workout 61, 53, 44, 38(14) ,

    I think it's true that older folk need more time between strength sessions. I've read that two per week gives the muscles enough time to recover and grow in between. I look forward to seeing how you get on with your plan. I can barely do push ups against a wall! I tried doing them on the floor last week and could only do one!

    Yikes! You can do it. Great goal. Last night I watched a AGT and a 54 yr old lift an 84 yr old with one had while the 84 yo planked. Then the 54 yr old stood up. He had been stretched out on the floor! Major strength! Both of them.
