When they published the schedules last weekend, I was on it for Saturday. Guess they changed their mind. I don't mind, entirely, I'm used to 40-ish hour weeks during work trips, which gives me the ability to get out and see the place I'm working in. People who are helping on the inpatient side of things often work far longer hours, doing 12 hour shifts from 6 or even 7 days. They do rake in a lot more money, what with the overtime on an extra 40+ hours, but I think I'd get burnt out quickly on a schedule like that.
Even though I'm doing inpatient work on this trip, we're limited to 48 hour weeks, due to being foreign workers in Canada. I did think I'd get those 48 hours, as I was on the schedule for exactly that, until I wasn't. So, from that perspective, I might be a little annoyed. But it's ok, I'll just sleep in, and maybe take a nap in the afternoon, so as to make up for what sleep I might not get for going to a concert tomorrow night. But then again, I might be tempted to take a good stroll tomorrow, what with the weather supposed to be quite beautiful, dare I say perfect. And at the same time, I do need to do laundry, so maybe I'll do that instead. Suffice to say, except for the concert at 730 tomorrow night, the day's schedule is very much up in the air. I just know I won't be heading in to the hospital.
This also gives me a chance to watch this NBA Finals game between Golden State and Toronto without worrying about not getting enough sleep. Seems like the whole of Canada is behind the Toronto squad, and I've heard a few folks up here in the national capital of Ottawa saying that they have rarely watched basketball before but are now glued to the playoffs during the Raptors' run. It's 1 one point game right now, just after halftime.
