Saying "No"

Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Saw everyone off this morning and by 7:30 I was getting my extended sleep. The dogs tried to beat the alarm, but I won by ignoring them and got another half an hour. I straightened up the kitchen and then checked work email which offered a little bit for me to do. Went to get Maegann from work so we could go to her doctor appointment and meds are adjusted so we'll see if her sleep gets better again. Nice that her headaches are lessening quite a bit. Once back home I finished up the paid work and then got Isaac busy on school assignments as I'd heard from a couple of his teachers. He's very close to being caught up in all of his classes! After that it was time to make supper.

At first Isaac and I were not sure about the overall flavor, but after a few bites our comments turned to "not bad". It's called sticky orange chicken, but Isaac asked me to keep the sauce separate just in case he didn't like it. It's a very quick and easy one that I will save for evenings without much time.

Tomorrow I have another day home alone until about 3. I do have a small amount of paid work to do, errand to the pharmacy and laundry. Also am meeting a new client at 4:30 in Meridian (horrible time of day to be on the roads home) so will enjoy a steamer. Will definitely need to make sure as much of supper prep is finished as possible before I leave the house.

I have accepted 3-4 new clients which puts me at a maximum limit once again. I had lost about that many due to the family moving out of the area or the client's guardians having to place them in 24/7 care due to negative and/or extreme behaviors. A new training class just ended so the calls and emails are coming in steadily. Glad I can say "no" and pass them along to others.

Cute picture. Saying NO can be so difficult until we learn we must do so in order to take care of ourselves. So glad Maegann is improving.

I love your No poster at the end. I'm going to hold onto that one for the next time I need to tell someone No online.

Good to catch up with your life once again.

I'm glad that Isaac is all caught up and that you are able to pass other clients on to others. I hope the medication change helps Maegann.
