I know, that's a little late, but I have been so busy and haven't taken the time to blog.
So how did February go?
Well if you are looking at pounds on the scale, down 9.6 more (total to date, 21.4). Now I should be pleased with that and I am, however, I had a few days where I went in the wrong direction - so I feel I probably could have done better If I had maintained my focus throughout the month. That's the little voice in my head that I would like to quiet - however - that is also the little voice that tends to keep me on track and moving in the right direction. So I have learned to look beyond the failure to stay on track perfectly and look at the accomplishments and celebrate them!
Exercise? Continued my streak of walking every day. This is where I really see improvement! When I started walking I set the treadmill at a 15 minute mile and by minute 3 I was ready to quit! I stopped the treadmill several times during that first mile. By the end of this month I have been walking two miles back to back, sometimes 3 and I have increased the incline to a 5. I am really excited that my physical endurance is improving!
Measurements? Well that waist was 41 inches at the end of the month - still work to do there!
The best part? Had my annual physical. My doc almost gave me a perfect bill of health! She stopped and said, there is only one thing that is keeping me from getting that and it was my A1C reading which was a 5.8. Normal high end range is 5.6. But she was quick to add that ALL my numbers improved from last year, my weight, my cholesterol, my thyroid, my blood pressure - even my A1C came down .2 from last year. If I can do that again next time, I will be in normal range. That felt good! I must say in December I was really dreading the doctor visit.
So there were lots of positives but dang I still hear that nagging little voice telling me I could have done better! Pipe down voice! It isn't about perfection..... it's about progress!
