Last evening, on CBC's, "The Passionate Eye"- was a program on how exercise , they have found, can improve a person's cognitive ability.
They were trying to understand why some people get Alzheimer's ----
Older adults in the study, were divided into 2 groups---
Over a period of time, half the group learned to play table tennis, and the other half, had to walk, a set number of minutes, twice a week--
Both groups were given a test, before --and after a set number of weeks.
It turned out that the walking group scored considerably higher --
Their test showed them to be brighter---more aware--
They also found that diet plays (of course) a role in a larger, brighter, brain---
They studied the Okinawans-those longevity people.
Their diet consists of a high amount of purple sweet potatoes--
Something in these purple vegetables keeps their arteries more soft and supple
This same thing is found in North America with Blueberries--purple cabbage-
-so amazing--but ---I am not surprised !-
I always feel happier after I take time to move more--spark People really do know this--
Lord love a Duck! I must tell my Germans (as in dogs)_
Maybe they already know all that--always chomping at the bit to get outside-
Life really is so interesting isn't it?
