When you lose your Mojo, Books - State of Slim and My Life Living with a Navy Seal get me refocused

Thursday, February 28, 2019

QOTD: When you lose your mojo, what do you do to refocus or get back on track again?

I’m still exercising but have lost my discipline on food that I had the first 5-6 weeks of the year. Vacation and the job change temporarily turned my focus around. The new job has me rotating from office to office and these first two weeks I’ve only worked 4 hours in my home office. So far I’ve worked at 3 additional offices as our team gets fully staffed and trained, Ughh.

Hopefully 2-3 more weeks and the rotating will stop. The thing I love about my new office is they have about 5 miles of amazing lighted greenways for walking and running. My new office is located in one of the community college buildings.

My brother losing 27 lbs in 27 days with our competition also shifted my focus because how do you compete with that success?

Okay, time to suck it up and get back on track with the eating plan that leads to my goals. Lighter body weight leads to faster running! I’m picking back up today on the week one again of State of Slim plan which works for me.

My second help is listening to “My Life Living with a Navy Seal.” It’s based on a true story where a rich ultra marathoner guy hires a former Navy Seal to live with him and train him for a month. The language is rough but it makes me laugh. The workouts are intense, no insane. The jist of the book....no matter how hungry, how tired, what time of day, the weather...just go do the run, push ups, pull ups, burpees, etc.

Thanks again, BLC39 Navy Ninjas for all the support as we share the same struggles on this journey!

Success is individual, which is sometimes hard for those of us who are competitive to adapt to. Beware of the trap of thinking if you "can't win, don't try", even sub-consciously! Reading inspirational things really does help.
