My Why - My Reasons, Sparkpeople Program Day 2

I have a lot of why answers, some serious and some not so much. The Sparkpeople Program Day 2 wants me to answer these 3 questions so I thought I would make it a blog post/exercise.

Before I start I just want to say how weird it is for me to have these why versus my why several years ago. I have changed so much in 6 years and want so many different things.

My used to be I want to have a baby. I am pushing 40 and have actually "grieved" my fertility so for me that is in my past. If God blesses me with a baby, I would be happy but I am not TTC at all. So let's get on to the questions.

What hurdles have you come up against in the last six months? How could being healthy have made those hurdles nonexistent or easier to handle?

I know this sounds weird but I haven't been able to support my husband when he goes to the doctor. He has health insurance and I don't and my weight has pretty much made me not want to go with him. Also, I was invited to a press event at a water park and couldn't get on the rides because of my weight.

When you look back on your life, what do you hope to see? What needs to change in your life now to achieve that vision?

I hope to see a life well-lived with lots of love and adventure! I won't have a great life if I don't get my blood pressure under control.

What are three things that make you most excited about being a healthier you?

1.) Cute clothes. One of the things I love best is dressing retro. Especially retro Disneybounding. Right now I can't find patterns I can sew or items I can buy without spending tons of money.

2.) Less embarrassment. I don't want to have to check weight limits on chairs, rides, etc. I don't want to miss out on cool rides at theme parks.

3.) More adventure! My husband and I plan on full-time RVing in the next few years, I want to hike, enjoy the beach more, zip line, and scuba dive!

    Welcome to Spark People. As a newbie, the best thing I can tell you is the more you put into your program, the more benefits you will reap. Do the basics: track all your food and exercises on the trackers, post and huddle with your team for support, build your spark page or update it from time to time so we can get to know you better, drink your water every day, ask questions -we are all here to help. Welcome again and I hope to see more of you on the site. It is a big site. so take your time and look around. Don't overwhelm yourself by joining too many teams- just enough to get guidance and support from and that you can keep active with- a team on which you are not active is no good to you or good for the team either. Good luck on your weight loss journey and becoming a more healthy and fit you.
