It's been over a year since I blogged or even looked at my Spark page, I've missed everyone but after a small stroke ill health set in and I've had a few issues to contend with and whilst I'm still not back to A1, and never will be, I need to get back to a healthier lifestyle than I've had of late.
I'm still under the hospital for spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis, that will never change, and though my spine has deteriorated a bit more it hasn't really been any more of a problem than it always was.
I'm due a nerve ablation and see my specialist on the 22nd January.
The main culprit is my right ankle.
I can be happily walking along and it just locks, usually in a downward pointing position and it's agony! Sometimes it's just for a few seconds, or a couple of minutes, or an couple of hours but it has locked for two days and once for five days!
I've had an MRI scan and I'm now awaiting results, they think probably a small piece of debris in the joint or it could even be connected to the spinal problem.
Whilst I was there they did blood tests as my third toe was very swollen, painful and purple. I've been diagnosed with gout in the toe and it could possibly be in the ankle too, that in itself is very painful when it flares up so what with my back and feet I'm finding exercise is a bit of a problem.
I've been doing chair exercises but what I'd dearly love to get back to is my bird watching hikes but I know that's never going to happen, my back won't let it.
DH is very good and takes me for rides out in the car where I hobble about a bit when we park up, we then then repeat it a few times...we call it 'park and ride' ...lol...
Oh! I almost forgot I was diagnosed with diabetes 2 at the end of October but I'm managing well with that.
I've not really regained any weight, a couple of pounds over Christmas but nothing major, but I never did get down to where I wanted to be and I still have fifty pounds to lose.
I feel as though I'm now ready to push myself a bit further and just get on with it!
So I'm staring 2019 as I mean to go on!
