My skin, fear of the aftermath

Im going to finally be honest with myself. I do want to drop A LOT of weight but my fear has always been the loose skin issue.

I've been gaining weight since 2nd/3rd grade. I was 185 my freshman year and I started getting stretch marks in the 4th/5th grade. I have stretch marks down the inside of my arms, shoulders, breasts/chest, stomach (from chest to below belly button), lower back, ribs, inner thighs, hips, a couple on my knees (side and behind), think thats it. Always been told I have thin skin but i dunno. In high school, in 4 years, I gained 51 pounds. Thats too much.

So with the skin, I was scared that I would look "melted" and I rather be fat then look like that. I just wanna say that when I see people that have lost a lot of weight and have a lot of loose skin I dont think "eww gross", I actually feel really jealous but also so happy for them and hope that they stick to it and keep it off.

I have pushed that thought aside because I want to be healthy. Im tired of feeling like this. I looked up skin care and here is what I have to do:
1. Dont rush it - I WANT to be at my goal weight in a year but I know it will take more like 3 and Im ok with that.
2. Work on building muscle - When the muscle is a little bigger it acts as support for your skin and it wont sag as bad.
3. Eat a balanced diet
4. Drink a lot of water, its great for your skin
5. Try taking some supplements like gelatin and/or collagen
6. Skin brushing
7. Protect your skin with sunscreen
8. Skin firming creams

The only fear now is that I try everything, take my time, and still have some loose skin. There are health issues you have to think about when dealing with loose skin and I dont have the money to fix it since its under "cosmetic" surgery which is bull. But Im not going to try and think about all of that because I WANT TO BE HEALTHY!!!! I know I wont look perfect but I will look a lot better than I do now.

    I also wonder as I lose if the skin will be a big problem but it can't be an excuse to stay unhealthy. Do what you can using the items you have above and may we have less trouble with the skin than is feared. Remember that the longer we put it off the worse it will be.
