Making Great Choices and My Pineapple Experiment...

I am holding strong on my new food plan. I seem to be losing 1 pound every other day. I just passed one of my plateau numbers! Hubby and I met friends for dinner to celebrate the wife's birthday. We ended up at The Texas Roadhouse. It is known for it's steaks. I haven't eaten meat in 4 years, so, this was not a problem. There were not any dishes on the menu I could eat - including the salads. If I had ordered a salad, by the time I asked them to eliminate ingredients - I would have ended up with lettuce or romaine! I ended up ordering from the "sides" menu - plain baked potato and steamed broccoli. The side menu seems to be my saving grace when we dine out. My meal was delicious and I was stuffed. I wasn't even swayed by their famous dinner rolls and cinnamon butter! Yayyy!

Tonight we are going to a neighbors house for happy hour. I am going to bring a black bean salad dip and blue chips I found with limited ingredients. I have made it before and all of my neighbors love it.

One of our friends just came back from Hawaii. I asked him to bring me back a pineapple.
Look at the difference between the one I bought at the market and the one he brought back. It's so much more golden!

I am eating the one from Hawaii first. It tastes really sweet, and is nice and juicy.
I am going to plant the top of it and grow a pineapple plant.

Now it needs to dry for a couple of days before I plant it in soil.

I love playing with plants in the winter!!
