Day 94 - Don't say these things

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

Negative dieting phrases don't actually change your behavior. It's time to eliminate these phrases and use healthier ones instead.

1. Which of the phrases in this lesson are you most likely to say? Write them down.

Fortunately, I've gotten past most of these statements. But many years ago, I was really stuck on saying "I blew it" and then eating a lot more as a result.
Even though I don't use that phrase anymore, once in awhile, I still slip into that behavior.

2. Draw a line through those phrases to indicate you won't say them anymore.

I blew it. - NOT

3. For each one, create a positive phrase that's the opposite of the old one.

I try to catch it early when I might be tempted to eat more because I "blew it." I tell myself to stop NOW, and make great choices the rest of the day.

Yes I use to be one of those people that dieted and when I messed up for the day.. I would think "Oh well. Might as well give up." Now i am much more forgiving of my self.. I try to eat healthy because I it is good for me.. not because "have to".

Yes! "I blew it" tends to give me permission to continue on that path in my brain. Good suggestions.
